Introduction

Yuli Veterans General Hospital started to operate psychiatric medical care since 1958, and acknowledged to be the Department of Psychiatry in 1972. In this period, Taipei Veterans General Hospital provides all kinds of resource to support our medical team, to build up our ability and quality to let us from a rest home, a sanatorium to be a specialty teaching hospital of psychiatry.
Currently we have 28 staffs, including one chairman, five attending doctors, nine chief residents, ten residents, one clerk, and two janitors.

The department has 5 sub special sections, including:

1. General Psychiatry Division
2. Community Psychiatry Division
3. Geriatric Psychiatry Division
4. Psychosomatic Psychiatry Division
5. Psychiatric Rehabilitation Division

In order to provide a comprehensive and continuous care for psychiatric patients, our division provides the following services:

1. Emergency ward
2. Inpatient rehabilitation
3. Day care
4. Midway Home
5. Outpatient and emergency clinic treatment

The department combines teaching, service and research, for many years, each member in this department all make their efforts to aim the goal "to be the pioneer of psychiatry in Taiwan".
